In keeping with its tradition of product innovation, Aerospace Optics has created the VIVISUN LOGIC Series, the first switch of its kind based on an integrated logic circuit. The Logic Series functions as a traditional holding coil switch but also allows a momentary switch to function as an alternate action switch. Its solid-state circuit gives the LOGIC Series the ability to be locally or remotely set or canceled. In addition, the LOGIC Series has the ability to automatically reset to a safe mode when power is cycled, and it can interface with external sensors to allow for conditional switching or lockout modes.

Fellow employees, friends and family gathered at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport July 12, 2008 to welcome home Aerospace Optics’ Brian Wish. Brian has spent the last several months on active duty in Iraq, serving with the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was away almost eight months and returned to work August 7, 2008.
Brian is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and is Quality Control Manager for Aerospace Optics. Brian brings the same passion for excellence and quality service to his role at Aerospace Optics as he does in his role in the Air Force Reserves.
Brian’s service was a great sense of pride for all his fellow Aerospace Optics employees and we join with his family in welcoming him home.

Aerospace Optics representatives recently returned from the Farnborough International Airshow, which was held in the U.K. July 14-20.
Expectations for the show were high, but according to Joe Stiffler of Aerospace Optics’ domestic and international sales department, the company’s success “far exceeded expectations.”
The 2008 show was very well attended and was the first opportunity for the entire VIVISUN International Sales Team to come together for an event.
“Our participation at the Farnborough Airshow demonstrated our commitment to serving the international aerospace community,” said Craig Morgan, vice president of sales. “We secured many new program opportunities at the show, especially in the U.K. The next scheduled event for the international team will be the Paris Airshow in June of 2009.

The Department of Defense recently announced a new “slash sheet” designation, /113, and the VIVISUN LR3 is currently working toward that qualification.
“We are pleased with the opportunity to begin testing for qualification,” said Loren Jensen, president and COO. “Obtaining a ‘slash sheet’ designation is the first step in a new QPL listing and we are making excellent progress.”
The VIVISUN LR3 is a 1-inch-by-1.2-inch, rectangular LED switch that supports increased character capacity and improved readability. It is designed and tested in accordance with MIL-PRF-22885/113, but it is in qualification testing and not yet listed on the QPL.
