Sunlight readability
For years, pilots experienced difficulty seeing switches and indicators clearly in direct sunlight. Over 25 years ago, Aerospace Optics engineered a sunlight readable pushbutton switch that provides true readings even in the most demanding direct-sunlight situations, virtually eliminating this concern for pilots and their crews.
Sunlight readability
and NVIS compliance combined
Nighttime military flight operations requiring night vision goggles used to result in dangerous goggle interference with traditional cockpit lighting. Aerospace Optics stepped to the forefront, developing revolutionary filtering technology that allowed pilots to safely use Night Vision Imaging Systems without fear of interference or added glare, while still maintaining sunlight readability.
Rugged, programmable display switches
As the use of multifunction displays emerged, Aerospace Optics introduced the revolutionary VIVISUN 5000 programmable display system, a unique combination of traditional tactile pushbutton switches and a reconfigurable display that seamlessly interfaces with the host computer.
LED lighting with voltage-controlled dimming in 11 colors
Frequent bulb replacement and excessive heat dissipation with traditional incandescent switches was a longtime issue within the aviation industry. Aerospace Optics answered the challenge by developing the new VIVISUN LED, an improved reliability, maintenance-free solution (for the life of the platform) that also offers a 55-percent reduction in power requirements and dimmable, simple voltage controls with no need for special engineering.
