Switches with LED illumination sources and in accordance with VIVISUN Data Sheet No. LED-12-2001-04 REV.B, are available in all display types:

Sunlight readable legends on an opaque black background: indiscernible until illuminated. When illuminated the legends appear in color and the background remains black. Displays are dead face even in direct sunlight if they are not energized, and when illuminated at rated voltage, they produce 200 – 350 minimum foot-lamberts luminance, (see VIVISUN Technical Bulletin) depending on the color selected. |

Always visible reflective white legends on an opaque black background: visible in any ambient light except darkened conditions. In darkened conditions the visible white legends can be energized to an average luminance between 0.5 to 3.0 foot-lamberts at rated voltage. |

Type B |

Hidden legend, a black legend on an obscure black background: When illuminated the legend appears black and the background appears in color. Type B appears dead face when un-energized. When energized, it is fully readable in daylight and has an average luminance exceeding 200 foot-lamberts. They are typically used as red warning signals, as defined in MIL-STD-411F, but are available in the colors listed for special applications. |

They are typically used in special applications in the colors listed. |
