STANDARD LEGEND DISPLAY

Type S			Sunlight readable legends on an opaque black background: indiscernible until illuminated. When illuminated the legends appear in color and the background remains black. Displays are dead face even in direct sunlight if they are not energized, and when illuminated at rated voltage, they produce 200 – 350 minimum foot-lamberts luminance (see VIVISUN Technical Bulletin), depending on the color selected.	Blue, Green, White, Yellow, Red, NVIS BLUE, NVIS Green A, NVIS Green B, NVIS White, NVIS Yellow Class A, NVIS Yellow Class B or NVIS Red
VISIBLE LEGEND DISPLAYS

Type N			Always visible reflective white legends on an opaque black background: visible in any ambient light except darkened conditions. In darkened conditions the visible white legends can be energized to an average luminance between 0.5 and 3.0 foot-lamberts at rated voltage.	White, Red, NVIS Green A, NVIS Green B or NVIS White
Type D			White, always visible legends on an opaque black background: When illuminated the legends light in color, producing over 100 foot-lamberts at rated voltage.	Blue, Green, White, Yellow or Red
BACKGROUND ILLUMINATING DISPLAYS

Type B			Hidden legend, a black legend on an obscure black background: When illuminated the legend appears black and the background appears in color. Type B appears dead face when un-energized. When energized, it is fully readable in daylight and has an average luminance exceeding 200 foot-lamberts. They are typically used as red warning signals, as defined in MIL-STD-411F, but are available in the colors listed for special applications.	Blue, Green, White, Yellow, Red, NVIS BLUE, NVIS Green A, NVIS Green B, NVIS White, NVIS Yellow Class A, NVIS Yellow Class B or NVIS Red
Type A			Reflective white, always visible legends on an obscure black background: When illuminated the legend remains white and the background appears in color. Type A does not appear lighted when un-energized, but it is fully readable in daylight when energized, with an average luminance exceeding 200 foot-lamberts. They are typically used in special applications in the colors listed.	Blue, Green, White, Yellow, Red, NVIS BLUE, NVIS Green A, NVIS Green B, NVIS White, NVIS Yellow Class A, NVIS Yellow Class B or NVIS Red
Type W			Always visible black legends on a white translucent background: When illuminated the legend remains black and the background appears in color. Average luminance of the background exceeds 100 foot-lamberts at rated voltage. Only available in Cap Styles H and B.	Blue, Green, White, Yellow or Red
